| Rex Lorigan. After being educated in Napier, Rex spent 24 years as a navigator in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. More than six years of that time was involved in designing, organising and running management and skills development courses for managers at the upper levels of military, government and business enterprises. He then spent five years as general manager of the company distributing Microsoft software throughout New Zealand. On returning to Hawkes Bay he and his wife Jo operated an orchard producing fruit for export and for their own New Zealand wide, mail order distribution business. Jo and Rex completed their Real Estate Salesperson Certificate courses in 2000 and Rex began actively working in that industry a few months later. Meanwhile Jo had begun selling real estate in a Napier agency. In May 2003 they joined the Bayleys Napier residential sales team. In 2004 Rex completed the National Diploma in Real Estate and he became an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (AREINZ) in early 2005. Rex and Jo have built a very successful partnership marketing and selling residential and lifestyle properties in the Napier/Taradale area. They have sold over $57,500,000 of their clients' property over the past six years. During the 2006 calendar year Jo and Rex sold property worth over $16,000,000. Four of their sales were for over $1,000,000 and were record prices in the particular suburb; Bluff Hill, Taradale, Greenmeadows and Jervoistown. Specialising in selling in the Taradale/Greenmeadows area of Napier, Jo and Rex were active in the sale of over 20% of the properties sold in that area for $500,000 or more during 2006.
